Food Aid 2016/2017

870 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat, there are more than 65 million children in the developing countries around the world who are every morning going to school with empty stomach.

The hunger is widely affecting millions in developing countries and this crisis caused mostly by the severe droughts. Alnas Foundation ’s food assistance efforts are an expression of the compassion and goodwill of the people of the world. The lifesaving assistance we provide can also help to stabilize fragile situations.

Our emergency food assistance and multi-year development programs:

• Save lives in times of crisis ( Refugees )
• Tackle chronic undernutrition
• Help the most vulnerable break the cycle of poverty and hunger through agriculture and livelihoods support.

Many development food aid programs target disaster-prone areas and are designed to help reduce the need for emergency assistance over time.

Undernourishment negatively affects people’s health, productivity, poor confidence and overall well-being. A lack of food can slow down growth, slow thinking, sap energy, hinder fetal development and contribute to mental retardation and many more.

Every year nutritional deficiency caused the death of 2.6 million of children under the age of 7, and that is equal to one-third of the world’s child population.

Women form approximately half of the world’s population,and the hunger statics includes 28 percent of women’s world population.
